Cenk Uygur — host of “The Young Turks” podcast — says political violence needs to end … and, he’s passionately ripping extremists on both sides.
The progressive political commentator who co-founded the political action committee Justice Democrats joined us Friday on “TMZ Live” to address Charlie Kirk‘s assassination and its impact on our society going forward.
Uygur talked about how some on the left had a problem with him grabbing a beer with Kirk after they disagreed on a host of contentious issues, but he says it’s essential to remain civilized … especially when you vehemently disagree with someone, like he did with Kirk.
Cenk says a majority of people on the right and left aren’t politically extreme or violent … and, it’s just the fringes taking horrific actions like the Kirk shooting.
However, Uygur admits it feels like the fringes are growing … jumping from a minuscule portion of each party to a sizable minority instead.
Cenk says it’s important to remember not everyone on the left is the same and not everyone on the right is the same … so, one person committing a violent act shouldn’t define the opinion of an entire side.
Watch the clip until the end … because Uygur brings up President Trump, left-wing nuts cheering that Kirk is dead and more topics across the political spectrum which are contributing to division in the country.
Bottom line … Cenk wants people to think before they promote political violence, ’cause that’s not supposed to be the American way.
