Hosted by Julie Chen Moonves, Big Brother is CBS’s long-running reality competition series where contestants live together completely isolated from the outside world. Season 27 kicked off on July 10 and introduced 17 houseguests, including a professional bull rider, AI consultant, aura painter, dungeon master and more. Season 13 winner Rachel Reilly also joined as the mysterious 17th houseguest during the premiere. This year’s theme, “Big Brother: A Summer of Mystery,” transformed the house into Hotel Mystère, complete with hidden passageways, a secret wine cellar, a Victorian conservatory lounge and a poison bar.
In the second-to-last episode, Morgan Pope won both the final four HOH competition and final power of veto, giving her the power to decide who would advance to the finale with her. At the veto ceremony, Morgan chose to keep the nominations the same, giving Vince Panaro all the eviction power. Vince voted to evict Ava from the game.
“Well, I could have seen that one coming,” Ava, who came in fourth place, said in her post-eviction interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Honestly, at some point, it was either me or him. He just got to me first. What are you gonna do?” She added that although she has no regrets, she could have “next time be a little bit more wary of people” in the house.
The three houseguests heading into the finale are Morgan, Vince and Ashley Hollis. Tonight, Chen-Moonves will also announce who is “America’s Favorite Player.” Fans were instructed to vote for their favorite contestant, who could be an evicted player, on CBS’ website until Sept. 28.
