BALTIMORE, MD—United Way of Central Maryland is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a month-long “Dine United” campaign, inviting diners to support the nonprofit’s mission by eating at participating restaurants across the region.
From Sept. 12 to Oct. 18, dozens of eateries in the greater Baltimore area will offer special menu items, cocktails or donate a portion of their sales to the United Way’s mission to help local families, young people and neighborhoods.
“United Way of Central Maryland was founded 100 years ago on the belief that we are stronger when we come together to lift one another up,” said Franklyn Baker, president and CEO of the United Way of Central Maryland. “Dine United is a perfect reflection of that spirit.”
Participating restaurants include 18th & 21st, Cosima, NiHao, The Food Market, and Lib’s Grill, among others. A full list of restaurants can be found at https://www.uwcm.org/dineunited.
“As an independent restaurateur, I’ve seen how food brings people together — and how our industry can show up for the community,” said Patti Wecker, owner of 18th & 21st. “We’re proud to join Dine United and invite our guests to celebrate United Way’s centennial by dining with purpose.”
The campaign is part of a year-long celebration of the United Way of Central Maryland’s century of service. The organization will also host a Centennial Benefit Concert featuring multi-award-winning artist Common at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall on Oct. 11.
