LAFAYETTE, IN — Landon Bagley lost control of his motorcycle about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, causing injuries that required him to be airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital, according to Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department.
Bagley, 19, of Lafayette, was riding northbound on Old U.S. 231 in front of McCutcheon High School when he lost control of his motorcycle near Romney Road near the north side of the school’s property, according to the sheriff’s department. No other vehicles were involved.
Bagley was wearing a helmet, according to the sheriff’s department.
He suffered serious injuries to his legs and his arm, according to the sheriff’s department, including a broken arm and leg. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening, according to the sheriff’s department.
Lifeline helicopter landed shortly after 6 p.m. in the high school parking lot as students, parents and area neighbors watched from a distance. Bagley was transferred to the helicopter and it lifted off around 10 minutes later.
