Ahead of the Season 5 premiere, Stranger Things recently set an impressive Netflix viewership record.
What Netflix record did Stranger Things set?
During the week of November 17 to November 23, all four seasons of Stranger Things made the Netflix Top 10 for English-language series. This is the first time that a Netflix series has had four seasons in the top 10.
Season 1 ranked No. 3 with 4.1 million views, followed by Season 4 at No. 5 with 3.3 million views. Season 2 came in at No. 7 with 3.1 million views, and Season 3 landed at No. 9, also with 3.1 million views.
It’s been three years since Season 4 wrapped in July 2022. It seems many fans are rewatching the series before the Season 5 premiere. Regarded as one of Netflix’s most popular shows, Stranger Things Season 5 will likely wind up in the streamer’s all-time Top 10 list. Stranger Things Season 4 is currently the third-most popular English-language show on Netflix, with 140.7 million views.
Stranger Things Season 5 picks up 18 months after the events in the Season 4 finale, where the Upside Down invaded Hawkins. With the town under a military-imposed quarantine, Eleven must go into hiding. The remaining survivors know a final battle with Vecna awaits.
Season 5 stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Brett Gelman, Priah Ferguson, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, Amybeth McNulty, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, and Linda Hamilton.
Created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things Season 5 will be the series’ final entry.
Stranger Things Season 5 will be split into three parts on Netflix. The first four episodes stream on November26,2025. Episodes five through seven will premiere on December25,2025. The finale airs on December31,2025. The finale will also be shown in select theaters.
