The LA Clippers close out their preseason tonight in San Francisco against the Golden State Warriors.
Golden State enters the game after a strong 118–111 win over Portland, led by Stephen Curry’s 28 points. The Warriors are expected to rest Jimmy Butler (ankle) and Moses Moody (calf), while Curry, Draymond Green, and Al Horford are expected to figure into tonight’s rotation.
The focus for Golden State will be on fine-tuning its spacing and evaluating back-end roster options like Brandin Podziemski and Quinten Post, who’ve both impressed during the preseason with their activity and ball movement.
For the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard and James Harden are being held out as part of load management heading into the regular season, while Bradley Beal is set to make his Clippers debut after signing with the team this summer.
Beal’s conditioning and fit alongside Chris Paul will be key points of evaluation before next week’s opener. John Collins, another offseason acquisition for the Clippers, has impressed this preseason and is expected to continue that momentum tonight.
