Nashville SC hosts Inter Miami in a Decision Day showdown at GEODIS Park.

Nashville enters the finale in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, having already clinched a playoff berth. A win could lift them as high as a top-four seed — and secure home-field advantage in Round One of the MLS Cup Playoffs.

A loss, however, could drop them into the play-in round. Nashville will clinch home-field advantage in the Round One Best-of-3 Series if they beat Miami, Charlotte loses to Philadelphia, and New York City FC loses or draws against Seattle.

Inter Miami sits in third place, tied with No. 2 Cincinnati at 62 points. With a win — and a Cincinnati loss or draw — Miami could lock up the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

Lionel Messi is also chasing the Golden Boot. He leads MLS with 26 goals, followed by Denis Bouanga (LAFC) with 24 and Nashville’s Sam Surridge with 23. Bouanga and LAFC play later tonight, adding late drama to the race.

This will also be the final regular-season match for Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who have both announced their retirements.

The clubs last met in July, when Inter Miami defeated Nashville 2–1 behind a Messi brace. Nashville will look for revenge — and a chance to control their playoff destiny — in front of their home fans.

Prediction

Nashville’s home advantage and desire to improve their seeding give them a slight edge, but Inter Miami’s momentum and Messi’s scoring streak could overwhelm the home side’s nerves. Expect a tight match where Miami’s experience in high-stakes games makes the difference.

Predicted Score: Nashville SC 1, Inter Miami CF 2
