SPARROWS POINT, MD—Baltimore County Police are investigating reported online threats made by an 11-year-old student at Sparrows Point Middle School, authorities announced Tuesday.

The investigation, which involves School Resource Officers and detectives from the department’s Behavioral Assessment Unit, was conducted in collaboration with Baltimore County Public Schools.

According to a police statement, officers have spoken with the student’s parents, concerned community members, and school administrators.

“Based on the information gathered during the investigation, any potential or perceived threats have been mitigated and there is no active threat,” the department said in the release.

The investigation remains open to ensure the continued safety of students and the community. Police emphasized the seriousness of making threats and the disruption they cause, urging anyone with knowledge of a threat or suspicious activity to report it immediately.
