ABERDEEN, MD—Revelers eager for a taste of Italy can look forward to three days of music, midway rides and authentic cuisine when the Galbani Maryland Italian Festival makes its annual return – this time at Ripken Stadium – this weekend.
The event, billed as the state’s largest celebration of Italian culture, is set for Friday, Sept. 26, through Sunday, Sept. 28, at the baseball stadium located at 873 Long Drive in Aberdeen. Organized by the Society of Italian American Businessmen and presented by Jarrettsville Furniture, the festival promises a mix of family-friendly fun, gourmet demos and premium entertainment options for attendees.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Friday and run until 11 p.m., with full days on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The weekend kicks off with evening hours tailored for after-work crowds, while Sunday features an outdoor church service at 10 a.m. to set a reflective tone before the festivities.
General admission tickets are priced at $12 per day or $25 for a three-day weekend pass, with free entry for children 12 and under when accompanied by a parent. For those seeking a more upscale experience, organizers offer private VIP villas — complete with a 10×10 tent, seating for eight and personal waiter service — starting at $300 per day or $1,000 for the full weekend. Reserved stage seating pods, accommodating four people with similar perks, range from $150 to $500 depending on the package.
Highlights include live performances by national acts on the main stage, headlined by Rat Pack Together Again on Sunday evening. Attendees can expect carnival rides and games on the midway, hands-on cooking and wine demonstrations, and two dedicated piazzas serving wine, beer and liquor. Dozens of Italian food vendors will dish out classics like pasta, pizza and gelato, alongside retail stalls hawking imported goods.
“All sales are final, but refunds are available up to seven days before the event,” festival organizers noted in a statement, emphasizing the in-person, rain-or-shine format.
The Galbani Maryland Italian Festival has grown into a staple of the mid-Atlantic’s cultural calendar since its inception, drawing thousands to honor Italian heritage through food, faith, and festivity. Proceeds support the Society of Italian American Businessmen’s charitable initiatives, including community scholarships and cultural preservation efforts.
Tickets are available now through Eventbrite and will also be available at the gate. For updates, visit https://www.marylanditalianfestival.com or follow the festival on Facebook.
