COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A former Ohio State football player was arrested Saturday morning after he allegedly knocked someone unconscious at a gas station, according to police.

Jordan L. Hall, 34, of Columbus, was arrested and charged with felonious assault after a person was found unconscious from blunt force trauma injuries, police said.

At about 1 a.m., an SUV pulled in to a Speedway gas station in the 700 block of West Fifth Avenue. Hall and another man exited the vehicle and went into the gas station, according to court documents.

After returning to the vehicle, Hall was allegedly seen on surveillance video dragging a man out of the rear passenger seat. Police said Hall punched the man in the face. As the vehicle started to drive away, it abruptly stopped and Hall exited the vehicle again, hitting the victim two more times.

The victim was knocked over and hit his head on the ground, according to police. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, police said the homicide unit is investigating.

Hall’s arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, according to online court records.

Hall was a running back at Ohio State from 2009 to 2013 before he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was released before the regular season. Hall rushed for over 1,500 yards and 14 touchdowns in his time at Ohio State.
