
DUNDALK, MD—A pedestrian was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by a truck while skateboarding in Dundalk, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
Police responded to the intersection of Merritt Boulevard and Westfield Road around 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, for a report of a pedestrian crash.
Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Crash Team determined that the pedestrian, identified as Jose Romero-Alvarez, was traveling on a skateboard on Merritt Boulevard when he was hit by a 2001 Toyota Tacoma at the intersection.
Romero-Alvarez was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma remained at the scene following the collision. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
