ESSEX, MD—Baltimore County Police Crash Team detectives are investigating a fatal single-vehicle accident that claimed the lives of two young men early Sunday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. on October 12, 2025, in the 2200 block of Holly Neck Road (21221).
According to a press release from the Baltimore County Police Department, officers responded to the scene and found a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu that had left the roadway. Detectives determined that the Malibu was traveling westbound when it struck at least one tree.
The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Austin Lautenschlager, and a rear passenger, 19-year-old David Santos III, were both pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
The Baltimore County Police Crash Team is actively investigating the circumstances that led to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
