Netflix is spooling up promotion for season 4 of Bridgerton, just uploading a new poster featuring at least the back of new addition Yerin Ha, who will play Sophie Baek in the upcoming storyline.

However, for those fans hoping for more information, specifically a season 4 release date, even months after it was first announced, Netflix is not giving a day, nor a month, nor even a season in terms of when Bridgerton season 4 is coming out. The poster, despite being brand new, still simply says 2026 when we are now only three months away from New Year’s.

The fact that Bridgerton season 4 would be out in 2026 was first announced over four months ago, all the way back on May 14, 2026. Now, over four months later, we still don’t have any sort of update’, which does not bode especially well for fans hoping that season 4 will get here quickly. If we want to guess, here are the gaps between the last three seasons of the show:

  • Season 1 – December 25, 2020
  • Season 2 – March 25, 2022
  • Season 3 – May 16, 2024/June 13, 2024.

Yes, Netflix did the annoying split between parts of season 3, but the point is, the time between seasons is increasing, where things went from one year and three months to two years and two months. Most recently, its showrunner has said that getting these with any less than a two-year gap at this point does not seem possible. That would mean at the earliest we’re looking at May 2024, which would be a full eight months from now. Rushing things would be at least half a year, regardless.

Bridgerton is a hugely important series for Netflix going forward, one of its biggest, given that Squid Game has ended and Stranger Things is about to end. Other big hits are limited series like Adolescence or The Queen’s Gambit. Currently, two seasons of Bridgerton occupy the fifth and seventh spots on the list. Season 2 didn’t make the cut for whatever reason.

The good news about Bridgerton is that it has practically endless source material to draw on, so there’s no reason to think that Netflix is going to drop it any time soon. It’s a high-profile production with an intensely loyal audience. But their patience may wane if it continues to be two or more years between seasons, as we’re looking at getting through all the books by the mid-2030s, if this continues.
