Critics are calling out President Donald Trump for posting a bizarre deepfake video insulting two key Democratic lawmakers who met with him in the White House on Monday in a failed last-minute attempt to avert a looming government shutdown.
The doctored video shows House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) wearing a sombrero and a cartoonish mustache as the “Mexican Hat Dance” plays while an AI-altered Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) calls Democratic lawmakers “woke pieces of shit.”

The video also promotes the racist “great replacement” conspiracy theory, which claims Democrats are bringing in undocumented immigrants to replace white voters.
Jeffries fired back at the deepfake video with a very real image of Trump with his former friend, late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein:
“It’s a disgusting video,” Jeffries said in an MSNBC interview. “And we’re gonna continue to make clear: Bigotry will get you nowhere. We are fighting to protect the healthcare of the American people in the face of an unprecedented Republican assault.”
Schumer also tore into Trump for posting the video.
