OWINGS MILLS, MD—A Randallstown woman’s routine visit to a local supermarket turned into a life-changing event on Thursday, October 17, 2025, after she won a $2 million top prize on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket.
The long-time Lottery player, who has previously won only small amounts, made a stop at the Giant Food Store located at 10210 Mill Run Circle in Owings Mills. She initially purchased a few $50 scratch-offs, one of which netted her a $50 win. Feeling lucky, she then decided to buy a $30 MONOPOLY X200 ticket.
In a moment of confusion that almost cost her a fortune, the lucky secretary nearly threw the ticket in the trash. After scratching it off, she scanned the ticket and received a “take to Lottery” message, which she initially misinterpreted. She re-examined the ticket and was “pleasantly surprised” to realize she was holding a top-prize winner worth a massive $2 million.
The winner, a Baltimore County resident, has no immediate lavish plans for her once-in-a-lifetime winnings. She indicated she plans to save the money and may consider early retirement from her job as a secretary.
