TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Department of Planning has announced it will hold quarterly, in-person office hours to allow residents to meet with community planners and discuss local concerns and development initiatives.

The new initiative aims to foster stronger relationships and better understand the unique needs of neighborhoods across the county. Community planners will rotate locations within each of the seven council districts every quarter to ensure accessibility for all residents and business owners.

“I am pleased that the Department of Planning’s community planners are in our communities so we can support our residents’ needs and foster a stronger connection with our residents,” said Planning Director Stephen Lafferty.

The Department of Planning’s Community Planning Division Chief, Ngone Diop, said the sessions will be valuable for both planners and community members and will help “create a more inclusive and responsive planning process.”

The first round of office hours will take place in the following locations in October and November:

  • District 1: Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at OCA Mocha, 5410 East Drive, Arbutus.
  • District 2: Thursday, Oct. 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Pikesville Armory NCO Building, 1st Floor Lounge, 640 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville.
  • District 3: Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hereford Branch Public Library, 16940 York Road, Hereford.
  • District 4: Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Chick-fil-A, 6975 Security Blvd., Baltimore.
  • District 5: Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at White Marsh Branch of Baltimore County Public Library, 8133 Sandpiper Circle, Baltimore.
  • District 6: Thursday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Middle River Recreation Activity Center, 9702 Community Drive, Middle River.
  • District 7: Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sollers Point Multi-Purpose Center, 323 Sollers Point Road, Dundalk.
