CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Over 3,000 people are without power after storms rolled through Central Illinois.

According to Ameren Illinois’ outage map, 1,823 Ameren customers are without power in Rochester. The outage started around 7:30 p.m. Ameren is still assessing the cause of the outage as of 9 p.m. on Sunday.

YESTERDAY: Power restored to over 1,000 residents in Springfield

In Macon County, 93 Ameren customers are without power. The outages began around 8:30 p.m. And, in Jacksonville, 275 customers are without power. The areas without power are centered near Illinois College.

City Water, Light and Power crews are also responding to outages in Springfield Sunday evening.

The largest outage is impacting over 800 customers; CWLP said it’s on a circuit from the Cornell substation that runs south of S Grand Ave from Whittier to Douglas.

Customers around Ash Street and Livingston Street may see power restored soon. But, there are about several other outages around the city that crews are working on, CWLP said.
