A hit TV show starring Glen Powell has been renewed for a second season at Hulu.
In recent years, Powell has played Gary Johnson in 2023’s Hit Man, Ben in 2023’s Anyone but You, Tyler Owens in 2024’s Twisters, and, most recently, Ben Richards in 2025’s The Running Man. He’ll soon be seen in John Patton Ford and A24’s How to Make a Killing, which will be released in United States theaters this coming February.
What TV show has Hulu renewed for a second season?
Powell stars as the titular character/Russ Holliday in the Chad Powers TV show, which also premiered this year. With the first season having ended on a cliffhanger that sees Russ’ big secret begin to leak out, Hulu has now renewed the series for a second season, per Deadline.
Chad Powers is based on the ESPN and Omaha Productions segment “Eli’s Places.” The show is co-created by Powell and Michael Waldron, while the cast also includes Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny, and Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson.
“Chad Powers, which debuted on September 30, quickly landed at No. 34 among Luminate’s Top 50 streaming shows for that week with nearly 1.6M hours viewed for just one episode,” Deadline’s article notes. “The following week, it rose to No. 19 with 2.2M hours viewed across two episodes. It reliably remained on Luminate’s rankings throughout its six-episode run.”
Powell previously told The Hollywood Reporter about a potential Chad Powers Season 2, “The reality is there’s a lot more story to be told. There was a construction early on for an arc of what the Catfish would look like. So we have a beginning, middle, and end in mind. But people have to tune in and show us they want to see it. We believe in this show. I believe we have a hit show here and one the world’s really going to love. If we get the privilege to make a second season, we have some fun stuff in mind.”
A premiere date for Chad Powers Season 2 has not yet been announced.
