A new trailer has arrived for The Magic Faraway Tree, giving fans their first real look at the fantasy adventure based on Enid Blyton’s beloved book series.
The movie is directed by Ben Gregor and written by Simon Farnaby, who updated the story for modern audiences while keeping the core magic of the original tales.
The story follows a family who moves from the city to the quiet British countryside, hoping for a fresh start. Their new home brings challenges as they try to settle into a slower, quieter life. But everything changes when the children discover a huge, mysterious tree in the woods.
The tree leads them to strange and magical worlds, each filled with unique creatures and characters from Blyton’s imagination. The film focuses on the family learning to reconnect after a difficult time, while exploring lands filled with wonder.
A story cherished for generations… now brought to life on the big screen.

The cast includes Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield as parents Polly and Tim Thompson. Delilah Bennett-Cardy, Billie Gadsdon, and Phoenix Laroche play their children. Nicola Coughlan appears as Silky, with Nonso Anozie as Moonface and Jessica Gunning as Dame Washalot.
Other cast members include Dustin Demri-Burns, Jennifer Saunders, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Hiran Abeysekera, and Rebecca Ferguson. Composer Isabella Summers, known for her work with Florence and the Machine, is creating the score and an original song for the movie.

The road to making the film goes back several years. Simon Farnaby first began working on an adaptation in 2017.
Development continued with Elysian Film Group and Neal Street Productions taking over the project. Director Ben Gregor shared that the new version will reflect what many children feel today, explaining that it explores “modern-day worries while keeping the heart of the original stories.” The film still features classic characters like Moonface and Saucepan Man, along with magical places such as the Land of Birthdays.
Filming began in June 2024 at Shinfield Studios in Berkshire. After many months of production, the release of the new trailer shows the film’s vibrant world and introduces audiences to the magical beings living in the faraway tree.
The Magic Faraway Tree is set to hit cinemas in the UK and Ireland on 27 March 2026.
