Alexander Skarsgård recently appeared alongside Miriam Margolyes on The Graham Norton Show, where the Pillon star reminded Margolyes of their first encounter years back, something that the Harry Potter star had completely forgotten. Skarsgård joked throughout the exchange, making everyone on the couch roar with laughter.
Alexander Skarsgård reminds Miriam Margolyes of their first meeting

Long before Alexander Skarsgård and Miriam Margolyes met professionally, they had met when Margolyes was renting out a room in her Santa Monica condo. The 84-year-old didn’t recall this encounter, but The Northman star remembered it well. “I mean, I clearly made a strong impression on Miriam when we met,” he joked on The Graham Norton Show.
He went on to remind Margolyes of the time she was renting out a room in her condo. “I believe you own or used to own a condo in Santa Monica, is that correct?” he said before adding, “When I was coming back to England, yeah…I was looking for a room to rent.”
Margolyes interjected, asking why he did not take the room. “It’s a gorgeous apartment, and I remember that you were…very charming,” Skarsgård said, before joking that he felt a strong sexual connection and believed that things would get messy if he took the room. This drew a lot of laughter.
Miriam Margolyes responded immediately with “Darling, I’m 84 and gay, and I’ve been with my partner for 58 years,” which drew more laughter. Alexander Skarsgård once again joked, “Again, I probably misread the situation.”
Skarsgård added that they did spend a lovely afternoon together back then, something that the Harry Potter star may have forgotten. Graham Norton backed the claim, saying, “That bit, that bit’s true, Miriam, he did spend the afternoon there.”
Norton immediately joked with another guest, “Nicola, have you nearly worked with Miriam, or nearly lived with her?” Nicola Coughlan responded, “I’m your daughter,” to which Alexander told her, “And I’m your father,” which drew more laughter.
