Keaton graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1963 before moving to New York to start her legendary show business career.
But the city is not stopping there. Santa Ana Council Member David Penaloza tells us they’ve asked the mayor to ask the city’s manager to light up the city’s iconic water tower — visible to hundreds of thousands of drivers every day from the 5 Freeway — in Keaton’s honor for the remainder of the week.
The town previously bestowed this honor for Prince and Kobe Bryant, using purple for both. They’ve yet to determine what colors to use for Keaton.
As for getting a day named in her honor, Council Member Jessie Lopez tells TMZ that would follow a process. According to Lopez, a council member would have to request the item, and they would have to figure out who in Diane’s family/inner circle would receive the proclamation in her name.

We broke the story … the LAFD responded to Keaton’s home around 8:08 AM Saturday, where paramedics transported one person — who sources confirmed to us was Keaton — to a nearby hospital. Dispatch audio captured responders referring to a “person down” at her address. She later died.
