DUNDALK, MD—A fatal officer-involved shooting is under investigation after a confrontation between Baltimore County Police officers and an armed adult male in Dundalk late Wednesday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Larkhall Road when officers from the Dundalk Precinct responded to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect in the window of the location.

According to a press release from the Baltimore County Police Department, an encounter with the armed subject led to six officers discharging their firearms, striking the male. The man sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A firearm was recovered from the location. No officers or other members of the public were injured during the incident.

All six officers involved were equipped with body-worn cameras. Per standard procedure following an officer-involved shooting, the officers have been placed on administrative leave.

The investigation into the shooting is being handled by the Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, which reviews all fatal police-involved incidents in the state.
