‘Absolute miracle,’ Rescue called off after two paragliders crash into San Diego cliff
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A rescue was called off after two people paragliding crashed into a San Diego cliff Friday afternoon. First responders called it an “absolute miracle” that the paragliders were not injured.
What started as a tandem paragliding flight Friday evening turned scary when the pilots crashed into the side of a cliff near Black’s Beach in La Jolla.
First responders with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded to the 9600 block of La Jolla Farms Road around 5:15 p.m. Friday near Black’s Beach Trail and called a rescue helicopter to the scene to assist with the cliff rescue.
However, once first responders arrived they found the tandem paragliders were not injured and were able to guide them down the side of the cliff.

Authorities called it an “absolute miracle” no one was injured as these types of incidents have the possibility of ending with serious injuries.
The fire-rescue department called off the rescue chopper and cleared the scene after everyone involved was found safe.
