WASHINGTON—A California-based importer is recalling nearly 100,000 “Evermore Surprise Eggs” sold nationwide because a toy airplane inside the eggs contains lead levels that violate the federal ban on the toxic metal.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, saying the lead poses a risk of serious adverse health issues if ingested by young children.
The recall involves approximately 98,350 Evermore Surprise Eggs imported by In Motion Design Inc., of Paramount, California. The gold-colored eggs are sold wrapped in yellow, pink, or green and contain a set of seven toys, including the hazardous toy airplane.
Lead is toxic, especially to children younger than 6, and can severely affect mental and physical development.
No incidents or injuries related to the product have been reported, according to the CPSC.
The surprise eggs were sold at major convenience and retail stores nationwide, including 7-Eleven, Horizon, Speedway, and Murphy stores, from March 2025 through April 2025 for about $10. The product was manufactured in China.
Consumers should immediately stop using the surprise eggs and the enclosed toy airplane.
To receive a refund, consumers must destroy the toy airplane, take a photo of the destroyed toy, and email the picture to In Motion Design at [email protected]. Consumers should then dispose of the airplane in accordance with local and state laws.
In Motion Design can be reached at 888-727-2476, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT, or online at https://inmotion.design/pages/recall.
