
NOTTINGHAM, MD—A flurry of burglaries and armed robberies in late September has kept Baltimore County Police busy in the eastern parts of the county, particularly in the Essex area, according to the department’s public crime blotter.
Over a ten-day period, the Essex area reported seven separate incidents of burglary or robbery, with other incidents reported in nearby Rosedale and Middle River.
Essex Sees Spate of Violent and Property Crimes
The most concentrated cluster of reported crimes occurred in Essex, which accounted for all four reported robberies and three of the five burglaries included in the blotter updates from September 20 through September 29.
Three of the four robberies in Essex involved a weapon, according to police reports:
- Sept. 29: An unknown suspect robbed a victim with a weapon and fled with property in the 1600 block of Middleborough Road at approximately 3:30 a.m.
- Sept. 21 (Evening): Multiple known suspects robbed a victim with a weapon in the 1300 block of Eastern Boulevard at approximately 6 p.m.
- Sept. 21 (Morning): An unknown suspect robbed a victim with a weapon before fleeing in the 700 block of Amcliffe Road at approximately 6 a.m.
Additionally, three burglaries were reported in the Essex area between Sept. 20 and Sept. 28, all of which involved unknown suspects breaking into residences:
- Sept. 28: A first-degree burglary was reported at approximately 2 a.m. in the 700 block of Snowberry Court.
- Sept. 27: A first-degree burglary occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Hadwick Drive.
- Sept. 20: A second-degree burglary was reported at approximately 6 a.m. in the 700 block of S Marlyn Avenue, where an unknown suspect stole property.
Rosedale, Middle River Also Affected
The crime reports also noted two incidents outside of Essex.
In Rosedale, a first-degree burglary was reported on Sept. 27 at approximately 12 a.m. in the 2100 block of E Boundary Ave, with property reported stolen by an unknown suspect.
In Middle River, a second-degree burglary occurred on Sept. 25 at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Oakland Road, where multiple suspects burglarized the location and stole property.
All incidents remain under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department. Authorities urge anyone with information regarding these crimes to contact the police or utilize the department’s anonymous reporting options.
